Basketball Recap: Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. The matchup between them and the Community Christian Academy Warriors didn't end well, with the Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy Eagles falling 63-45. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 70-51 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.

Defeat or not, Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy got some senior leadership from Mason Smith and Caleb Whicker. Smith went 9 of 18 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds, while Whicker posted 11 points and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Hendricks, who put up four points.

Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Community Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy will welcome Bethel Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy is facing Bethel Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Bethel Christian Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Community Christian Academy, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Christian Family Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
