Football Recap: Jim Thorpe Olympians vs. Northwestern Lehigh Tigers
After flying high against Catasauqua last Friday, Jim Thorpe came back down to earth. The Olympians were outmatched by the Northwestern Lehigh Tigers and fell 50-7. The Olympians were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-0.
Jim Thorpe didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Angel Rivera and Ben Remmel. Remmel got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Braxton Lakatosh continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Northwestern Lehigh, rushing for 175 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries. Those 175 rushing yards gave Lakatosh a new career-high. Northwestern Lehigh also got a significant boost from Mason Bollinger, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 103 yards.
Jim Thorpe has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Northwestern Lehigh, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.
