Softball Recap: Banquete Takes a Loss

Banquete fell victim to Bishop and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 15-0 to the Bishop Badgers. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Badgers: they've now lost five in a row.

Banquete's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Bishop, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Banquete will challenge London at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Banquete has given up an average of 12 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Bishop, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Santa Gertrudis Academy at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Bishop has won seven straight at home dating back to last season, while Santa Gertrudis Academy won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
