Basketball Recap: Oxford Prep Takes a Loss

Oxford Prep came up into this matchup off a tough 26-point loss last Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Neuse Charter Cougars by a score of 54-52 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Griffins have suffered since February 13th.

Oxford Prep has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Neuse Charter, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oxford Prep will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Vance Charter at 7:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Neuse Charter also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against Star Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
