Baseball Recap: Foundation Academy's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Foundation Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the IMG Academy Blue Ascenders. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by just one run.

Foundation Academy got a great performance from Michael Surane as he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave Surane a new career-low in walks (one).

At the plate, Foundation Academy let Aj Zimmerman and Charlie Capozzoli run wild. Zimmerman scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Capozzoli scored two runs. The dominant performance gave Zimmerman a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Jose Taveras, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Foundation Academy's record now sits at 10-5. As for IMG Academy Blue, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foundation Academy will welcome Lake Highland Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for IMG Academy Blue, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Braden River at 7:00 p.m.
