Baseball Recap: Ridgeview Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Knoxville Catholic, Ridgeview was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Karns Beavers, sneaking past 7-5.

Ridgeview got a great performance from Caden Sears as he pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Sears has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jachob Kaplitz and Trent Peacock did most of the damage at the plate: Kaplitz scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Peacock scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs Peacock has posted since back in April of 2024.

Ridgeview's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Karns, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-6.

Looking ahead, Ridgeview will take on Christian Academy of Knoxville at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday. As for Karns, they are taking a road trip to square off against Yulee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Yulee is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
