Basketball Recap: Charles Kuenster and Caleb Lindsay Secure Win for First Baptist

First Baptist hadn't done well against Liberty Christian recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The First Baptist Crusaders enjoyed a cozy 55-37 victory over the Liberty Christian Eagles. The win was all the more spectacular given the Crusaders' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 327th in Minnesota, while the Eagles are ranked 158th in Wisconsin).

First Baptist was led to victory by Caleb Lindsay and Charles Kuenster. Lindsay went 11 of 20 en route to 22 points, while Kuenster posted 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. The game was Lindsay's third in a row with at least 18 points. Jon Anaya was another key player, putting up seven points and eight boards.

First Baptist's victory bumped their record up to 10-15. As for Liberty Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Coming up, First Baptist won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Fourth Baptist Christian at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. First Baptist knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Fourth Baptist Christian likes a good challenge. Liberty Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
