Edgewood gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They breezed past the Mitchell Bluejackets to the tune of 38-0. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Bluejackets: they've now won four in a row.

Braxton Carpenter was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 203 yards and two scores while picking up 10.7 yards per carry. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards.

Carpenter was just one part of a punishing run game: Edgewood was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 240 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mitchell only rushed for 88 rushing yards.

Looking ahead, Edgewood is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against South Spencer at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mitchell, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Springs Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Bluejackets' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
