Softball Recap: Hunterdon Central Victorious

Hunterdon Central lost to Immaculata on April 9th, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Red Devils walked away with a 5-1 win over the Spartans. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Devils.

Hunterdon Central got a great performance from Jess Yip as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. Yip has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Isabella I, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Josephine Selvaggi, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Hunterdon Central's record is now 9-11. As for Immaculata, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hunterdon Central is set to challenge their familiar foe North Hunterdon at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Immaculata will face off against rival Watchung Hills Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
