Mountain View faced Rocky Mountain in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Mavericks came out on top against the Grizzlies by a score of 8-4. The win continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won five in a row.

Katy Jackson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 15 Ks.

On the hitting side, Aleynah Vega was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kiki Bangham, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Mountain View's victory bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Rocky Mountain, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-16 record this season.
