Sydney Zamor was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one triple. Tyliah Arnold was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
Trinity Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Scholars Guild Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Peachtree Academy with a sharp 18-6 victory. 18 seems to be a good number for the Spartans as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Kerrigan Welch made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs.
Welch wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Madison Kenny, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Kenny a new career-high. Another was Harley Minor, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
Trinity Prep picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-6. As for Scholars Guild Academy, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-0.
Trinity Prep suffered a grim 21-1 defeat to Scholars Guild Academy in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can Trinity Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
