Basketball Recap: Daviess County Takes a Loss

Daviess County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the Father Ryan Irish.

Daviess County lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kennedy Lane, who went 7 of 11 on her way to 19 points and five boards. That was a full 38% of Daviess County's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Hoagland, who had 12 points.

Daviess County's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Father Ryan, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Daviess County and Breckinridge County will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Breckinridge County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.2 points per game this season. As for Father Ryan, they will head out to face off against Girls Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
