Baseball Recap: St. Paul's Episcopal Takes a Loss

St. Paul's Episcopal fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Saraland on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Saraland Spartans by a score of 4-3. That's two games in a row now that the Saints have lost by just one run.

John Stowers made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Brooks McDonald was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for St. Paul's Episcopal and nudges their season record down to 7-6. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Saraland, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-10.

Coming up, St. Paul's Episcopal will square off against Citronelle at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Saraland, they will be playing at home against Ramsay at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
