Volleyball Preview: Reedley Pirates vs. Immanuel Eagles

The Reedley Pirates will challenge the Immanuel Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Reedley will be strutting in after a victory while Immanuel will be coming in after a loss.

Immanuel will be up against a hot Reedley team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Pirates came out on top against Sierra Pacific by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday.

Reedley walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the fourth set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-16, 22-25, 25-11.

Reedley can attribute much of their success to Lexie Obeso, who had four digs and four aces. That's the most aces Obeso has posted over her last six contests.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Saturday. Immanuel came up short against Arroyo Grande, falling 3-0. Immanuel hasn't had much luck with Arroyo Grande recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-19, 25-9.

Immanuel's defeat dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Reedley, their victory bumped their record up to 21-9-1.

Reedley was able to grind out a solid win over Immanuel in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 3-1. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Eagles' Mary Degraw, who had 21 digs and five assists.
