Del Oro took a 21-point loss the last time they faced off against Rocklin, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Golden Eagles slipped by the Thunder 15-14 on Friday. The win almost wasn't to be: the Golden Eagles were down 14-0 in the third quarter.

Brock Sherman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 103 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 52 yards.

Despite the loss, Rocklin still got an impressive performance from Reeve Slone, who rushed for 62 yards and one score on only eight carries, and also threw for 159 yards and one touchdown. A healthy portion of that aerial production (82 yards to be exact) went to Greyson Smith.

The victory made it two in a row for Del Oro and bumps their season record up to 6-3. As for Rocklin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

Coming up, Del Oro will be playing at home against Davis Sr. at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rocklin, they are taking a road trip to challenge Oak Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
