Basketball Recap: Walsingham Academy Takes a Loss

Walsingham Academy came up into this matchup off a tough 38-point loss last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Veritas School Lions by a score of 41-39 on Friday. The Trojans just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Veritas School found their leader in sophomore London Smith, who posted 18 points. Another player making a difference was Liam Cruess, who scored nine points and five rebounds.

Walsingham Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Veritas School, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walsingham Academy will face off against Steward at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Veritas School, they will take on Hampton Roads Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
