Basketball Preview: Knox Redskins vs. Twin Lakes Indians
Knox has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Twin Lakes Indians at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Knox will be strutting in after a victory while the Indians will be coming in after a defeat.
Knox scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They breezed by West Central at home to the tune of 76-33. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-21.
Caleb Schwandt and Jashawn Tinsley were among the main playmakers for Knox as the former almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds and the latter almost dropped a triple-double on 18 points, nine rebounds, and ten assists. Tinsley continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Myles Mclaughlin, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Twin Lakes came up short against the Knights on Thursday and fell 51-43. Twin Lakes has struggled against the Knights recently, as their contest on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Knox's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Twin Lakes, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.
Knox was able to grind out a solid victory over the Indians in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 57-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Knox since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
