Preview: Interlachen Rams vs. Christ's Church Academy Eagles

Two dominant players in Kemontae Nixon and Jackson Hadden are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Interlachen Rams just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Christ's Church Academy Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Interlachen knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Christ's Church Academy likes a good challenge.

Interlachen pushed their score all the way to 57 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their tough 78-57 loss to P.K. Yonge might stick with them for a while. Interlachen has not had much luck with P.K. Yonge recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

The losing side was boosted by Nixon, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Charles Bean, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Christ's Church Academy beat Parsons Christian Academy 42-38 on Monday. The victory was just what Christ's Church Academy needed coming off of a 60-36 loss in their prior matchup.

Hadden was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 15 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Olson, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.

Interlachen's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-10. As for Christ's Church Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-16 record this season.

Tuesday's contest is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Interlachen have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 41.8% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Christ's Church Academy struggles in that department as they've drained 44.9% of their threes per game this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
