Volleyball Recap: Mackenzie Skeans Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Independent Athletic Ministries

The Happy Valley Warriors made easy work of the Independent Athletic Ministries Ravens on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Happy Valley walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-19, 25-18.

Happy Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mackenzie Skeans, who had five aces.

Skeans wasn't the only good server: Happy Valley was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since the start of last season.

Happy Valley now has a winning record of 2-1.

Happy Valley has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Providence Academy on the 22nd. Hopefully Independent Athletic Ministries paid attention to the Warriors' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on October 10.
