Baseball Recap: Stockdale Continues Home Dominance on Monday

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Stockdale ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past the Frontier Titans 6-5. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Eli Saunders and Ko Murguia did most of the damage at the plate: Saunders scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Murguia scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs Murguia has posted since back in March of 2024. Brayden Gutierrez was another key player, going 1-for-5 with one home run.

Stockdale pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Frontier, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Stockdale will have a chance to go back-to-back against Frontier: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
