Tinora is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Thursday. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Antwerp Archers at 5:00 p.m. Tinora is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Last Friday, Tinora beat Continental 8-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.
Zoe Billings made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that she brought in this season.
In other batting news, Tinora let Paige Gamby and Christina Meyer run wild. Gamby went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double, while Meyer scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That triple was Gamby's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Zoe Roesti, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Antwerp ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Jefferson 4-3. Winning may never get old, but the Archers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Elle Clem spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Caroline Rohrs, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
Tinora's victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Antwerp, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Tinora hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .361. However, it's not like Antwerp struggles in that department as they've averaged .333. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Tinora's way against Antwerp in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Tinora made off with a 6-0 win. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Archers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
