Softball Recap: Monticello Snags Tenth Victory in Last 11 Games

Monticello had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Warren on Thursday. The Billies blew past the Lumberjacks 15-5. The result was nothing new for the Billies, who have now won nine matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Addi Frazer made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Frazer was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Libby Kingston and Bliss Becker did most of the damage at the plate: Kingston went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs, while Becker went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave Becker a new career-high. Ashley Hales was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one double.

Monticello always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Warren only posted an OBP of .348.

Monticello is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Warren, they dropped their record down to 12-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
