Basketball Recap: Bingham Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Copper Hills

On Thursday, Bingham faced Copper Hills in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Bingham Miners fell 56-46 to the Copper Hills Grizzlies. The defeat continues a trend for the Miners in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now lost six in a row.

Despite the loss, Bingham still got an impressive performance from Addy Horsley, who posted 16 points. Horsley continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Evalyn Roberts was another key player, putting up nine points.

Skylie Barker continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Copper Hills, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. What's more, Barker also racked up seven assists, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ayla Marston, who earned 12 points in addition to six assists and five boards.

Bingham's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Copper Hills, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bingham will host Mountain Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mountain Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.3 points per game this season. As for Copper Hills, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Herriman at 7:00 p.m. Copper Hills is facing Herriman at the right time seeing as Herriman is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
