Basketball Recap: East Wake Academy Takes a Loss

East Wake Academy lost against Wake Prep Academy last Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The East Wake Academy Eagles were outmatched by the Wake Prep Academy Guardians and fell 76-46. The Eagles were down 58-30 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Wake Prep Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Beanie Ballman, who posted 12 points and six steals. Ballman is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Karly Beckstrand, who scored six points along with 13 rebounds and four steals.

East Wake Academy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Wake Prep Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

East Wake Academy will welcome NCSSM: Durham at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wake Prep Academy, they will take on Falls Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
