Soccer Recap: Battle Mountain Falls to Northfield in First Game of Season

Battle Mountain kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 7-2 to the Northfield Nighthawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Battle Mountain of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Jakob Methvin wasn't going to let Northfield walk away unscathed as he scored both of Battle Mountain's goals.

Northfield has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Battle Mountain will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against Summit at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Battle Mountain are facing Summit at the right time seeing as Summit are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Northfield, they are taking a road trip to face off against Colorado Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
