With a playoff win on the line, Dayton rose to the challenge on Friday. They put the hurt on the Naselle Comets with a sharp 20-10 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won ten games by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Marissa Tupling made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned (and nine unearned) runs off eight hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and six RBI.

In other batting news, Cindi Howard was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Peyton Dobbs, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Dayton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.8 runs over those games. As for Naselle, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.
