Basketball Recap: South Comes Up Short

South lost against Stargate School back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The contest between the Bison and the Eagles didn't end well, with the Bison falling 54-40. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bison came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 15th in Wyoming, while the Eagles are ranked 153rd in Colorado).

This is the second loss in a row for South and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Stargate School, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

South will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Rock Springs at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2026. As for Stargate School, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-43 victory against Pine Bluffs on the 20th.
