Softball Recap: Oxford Hills' Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Oxford Hills owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over the Skowhegan River Hawks. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Oxford Hills pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Skowhegan, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Oxford Hills will face off against rival Camden Hills at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Vikings 1.7, the Windjammers 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Skowhegan is set to square off against their familiar foe Messalonskee at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
