Softball Recap: Chino Takes a Loss

Chino managed to slip by Don Lugo the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cowboys lost 17-9 to the Conquistadores on Monday. The Cowboys' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Chino got a massive performance out of Marissa Quintero, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Angelina Ortiz, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Chino now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Don Lugo, their win was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-3-1.

While Chino had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
