Softball Game Preview: Wesclin Warriors vs. Metro-East Lutheran Knights

The Wesclin Warriors will challenge the Metro-East Lutheran Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The last three games Wesclin has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, Wesclin turned things around against Vandalia on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Vandals. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since April 10th.

Meanwhile, Metro-East Lutheran came up short against Southwestern on Wednesday and fell 10-5. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Piasa Birds: they've now lost seven in a row.

Metro-East Lutheran saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexis Weber, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Wesclin's win bumped their record up to 6-15. As for Metro-East Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

Wesclin beat Metro-East Lutheran 6-3 when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
