Medicine Valley comes up short despite Stella Heapy's strong performance

Recap: Medicine Valley Raiders vs. Wauneta-Palisade Broncos

The Medicine Valley Raiders were the 51-50 winner over the Wauneta-Palisade Broncos when they last played one another last Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. Medicine Valley fell just short of Wauneta-Palisade by a score of 54-51.

When it comes to explaining why Medicine Valley lost on Monday, one person who can't be blamed is Stella Heapy. Despite the final result, she scored 32 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Heapy has scored all season. Sienna Houghtelling was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds and five blocks.

Peyton Cox was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds and seven blocks for Wauneta-Palisade. Another player making a difference was GraCee Goings, who scored 17 points.

Medicine Valley has not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Wauneta-Palisade, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-11 record this season.

Medicine Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wauneta-Palisade, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Cambridge at 5:30 p.m. on February 13th. Hopefully Cambridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 last Friday.
