Basketball Recap: Santa Fe Comes Up Short

Santa Fe lost against Columbia back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Santa Fe Raiders fell 64-57 to the Columbia Tigers.

Despite the loss, Santa Fe still got an impressive performance from Cedric Collins, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 17 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Collins a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Camden McLeod, who posted ten points.

Columbia found their leader in sophomore Shaheed White, who went 9 for 13 en route to 20 points and five rebounds. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for White. The team also got some help courtesy of Zamarion Jones, who put up 11 points and three steals.

Santa Fe's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Columbia, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

Santa Fe wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 57-36 victory against West Port on the 28th. As for Columbia, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-29 win against Suwannee on the 25th.
