It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Effingham had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Charleston Trojans. This was a revenge game for the Hearts: when they faced off against the Trojans on May 6th, they had to take a 5-4 loss.

Effingham is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Charleston, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-21.

As of now, neither Effingham nor the Trojans have any future games scheduled.
