Volleyball Recap: Monroe Area Takes a Loss

Monroe Area lost against Loganville Christian Academy back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Purple Hurricanes took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. The Purple Hurricanes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marley Connell paced Monroe Area's offense, picking up three kills. Connell got some help from Alyssa Brown and her two assists. Ashley Phiel controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Summer Shambo was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 23 assists and three aces. She has been hot, having posted 20 or more assists the last seven times she's played.

Monroe Area's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Loganville Christian Academy, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1.

Monroe Area didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against George Walton Academy on the 16th. As for Loganville Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Social Circle on the 16th.
