Baseball Game Preview: Greensburg Salem Golden Lions vs. Apollo Ridge Vikings

The Greensburg Salem Golden Lions will challenge the Apollo Ridge Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Greensburg Salem will be strutting in after a win while Apollo Ridge will be coming in after a loss.

Last Wednesday, Greensburg Salem needed a bit of extra time to put away Highlands. They skirted past the Golden Rams 3-2. The Golden Lions haven't had any issues with the Golden Rams recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Brody Chismar, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Apollo Ridge's offense. They fell 3-0 to Highlands on Wednesday. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Apollo Ridge also got a good showing from Brody Henderson, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Henderson has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Apollo Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Greensburg Salem, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
