Baseball Recap: Gilbert Comes Up Short

Gilbert lost against Highland on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Tigers fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 3-2. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Johhny King was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Gilbert is 4-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 6-15 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Will Bates made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Grant Goodman, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Gilbert's record now sits at 10-17. As for Highland, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-10.
