Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Independence). They put the hurt on the Washington Rams with a sharp 18-12 win on Tuesday. With that victory, the Patriots brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.

Rafael Sierra made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off only two hits. Sierra was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-6. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
