Basketball Recap: Southern Takes a Loss

Southern lost against Fort Hill back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Southern Rams took a 68-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fort Hill Sentinels. The Rams' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Despite the loss, Southern still got an impressive performance from Jared Haskiell, who posted 28 points in addition to five assists and four steals. Haskiell has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Brown, who on his way to 17 points.

Southern's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Fort Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.

Looking ahead, Southern won't have much time to rest: their next game is against GVCS Broadfording at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southern is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.2 points per game this season. Fort Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
