Football Recap: Tri-Valley Skates Past Clinton with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tri-Valley). They claimed a resounding 56-6 victory over the Clinton Maroons. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Vikings' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Maroons are ranked 469th).

Tri-Valley's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.2 points on average this season. As for Clinton, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Tri-Valley will challenge Tremont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings will be up against the Turks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.83 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Clinton, they will face off against Shelbyville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
