Baseball Recap: Glenn Drops Season-High Score on Parkland

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Glenn). They blew past the Parkland Mustangs 21-1 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won eight in a row.

Derrick Stevens made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Stevens was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Glenn's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-10 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Glenn got a big performance out of Brayden Winters, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave Winters a new career-high. Gabe Eller was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Glenn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .793. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory got Glenn back to even at 10-10. As for Parkland, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-20.

Glenn wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Northwood on the 19th. As for Parkland, they will venture away from home to challenge Mount Tabor at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.94 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
