University had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers on Tuesday as the University Hawks made off with a 3-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Hawks sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
University's not only won, but also showed off some consistency: keeping Buckhannon-Upshur between 17 and 19 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-17, 25-17.
University was led to victory by Katie Pilgrim and Avery Reed. Pilgrim had nine digs, while Reed had 11 digs and a kill.
University was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in three consecutive games.
