Recap: West Seneca West Indians vs. Sweet Home Panthers
The West Seneca West Indians had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They took down Sweet Home 27-12. Given West Seneca West's advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 100th, while Sweet Home is ranked 211th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bernard Freeman went supernova for West Seneca West, rushing for 245 yards and a touchdown while picking up 13.6 yards per carry. Freeman was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards.
West Seneca West's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.0 points per game. As for Sweet Home, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3.
West Seneca West will head out on the road to face off against Clarence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clarence is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Sweet Home does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
