Basketball Game Preview: West Columbus Vikings vs. Heide Trask Titans

West Columbus hasn't had much luck against Heide Trask recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The West Columbus Vikings are taking a road trip to face off against the Heide Trask Titans at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

West Columbus is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They were beaten by Pender 57-8. The game marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Valaisha Murchison was West Columbus' leading scorer, having posted four points. Murchison also led the team in rebounds with seven.

Meanwhile, Heide Trask played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by East Columbus and fell 58-17. The Titans have struggled against the Gators recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Heide Trask's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for West Columbus, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

West Columbus and Heide Trask were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in January of 2024, but West Columbus came up empty-handed after a 58-57 defeat. Can West Columbus avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
