Basketball Recap: Dwyer Takes a Loss

Dwyer suffered their closest loss since January 15, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Treasure Coast Titans by a score of 46-44. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Titans earlier this season, when they won 52-41.

When it comes to explaining why Dwyer lost, don't look at C'Orna Greene. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 boards gave Greene a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Liz Lynskey, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

Treasure Coast got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Justice Alexis out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards. Alexis is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Reniah Flynn, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.

Dwyer's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Treasure Coast, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-8.

Dwyer has already played their next game, a 55-48 win against Monsignor Pace on the 18th. As for Treasure Coast, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 44-34 loss against Sebastian River on the 17th.
