Basketball Recap: South Haven Christian Wins Going Away Against Garland Christian Academy

South Haven Christian picked up another tournament win on Friday. They took down the Garland Christian Academy Swords 30-15. The win made it back-to-back victories for South Haven Christian.

Sophia Ashley went supernova, dropping a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 boards gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zoey Van Der Hengst, who posted four points and 12 rebounds.

South Haven Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive games dating back to last season.

South Haven Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Garland Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

South Haven Christian has already played their next matchup, a 48-47 victory against Christian Community on the 8th. As for Garland Christian Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Heritage Christian at 6:00 p.m. on the 18th.
