Football Recap: Richland's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three + How To Watch

Richland extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 3-0. They came out on top against the Southridge Suns by a score of 27-19. The win almost wasn't to be: the Bombers were down 19-0 in the second quarter.

Richland found their leader in sophomore Micah Mayer, who rushed for 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Mayer is also crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season.

As for Southridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2. They were up 19-0 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Despite the loss, Southridge still got an impressive performance from Koven Burke, who picked up 155 receiving yards and three TDs. Burke's longest reception was for an incredible 96 yards. Southridge also got a significant boost from Tayton Jackman, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 98 yards.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Richland is set to face off against their familiar foe Pasco at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Southridge will challenge rival Walla Walla at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
