Football Recap: Manchester Valley Takes a Loss

Manchester Valley managed to slip by North Hagerstown the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mavericks lost 33-7 to the Hubs on Friday. The Mavericks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 20-0.

Ty'Qwell Fauntleroy had an outrageously good game for North Hagerstown as he rushed for 114 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 carries. Fauntleroy's longest rush was for an impressive 59 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another back making a difference was Tai Gilliam, who rushed for 76 yards and one score on only eight carries.

Manchester Valley is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2. As for North Hagerstown, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Manchester Valley will take on Francis Scott Key at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Mavericks their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for North Hagerstown, they will square off against Governor Thomas Johnson at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
