Softball Game Preview: Shepard Astros vs. Evergreen Park Mustangs

The Shepard Astros will take on the Evergreen Park Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Shepard knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Evergreen Park likes a good challenge.

While Shepard's win against Tinley Park wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Astros skirted past the Titans 10-9. The Astros haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Oak Forest hit Evergreen Park with a eight-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mustangs came up short against the Bengals, falling 11-2. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Bengals: they've now lost three in a row.

Shepard's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Evergreen Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-5.
