Baseball Recap: Armwood Comes Up Short

Armwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sickles Gryphons. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gryphons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2019.

Inri Beltre was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits.

At the plate, Rhys Brush made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Armwood's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Sickles, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Looking ahead, Armwood will take on Tampa Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sickles, they will challenge Carrollwood Day at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
