Basketball Game Preview: Covenant Day Lions vs. Charlotte Christian Knights

Covenant Day and Charlotte Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Covenant Day Lions will challenge the Charlotte Christian Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Covenant Day is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Providence Day just ended the team's ten-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were beaten by the Chargers 67-27. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Lions have suffered since November 14, 2024.

Meanwhile, Charlotte Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Charlotte Latin and fell 65-13. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-8.

Covenant Day's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5. As for Charlotte Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Covenant Day strolled past Charlotte Christian when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 43-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for Covenant Day since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
